Yellow Butterfly and Yellow Flowers in Griffith Park
Matthew 6:29b-34
Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin, 29yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like one of these. 30But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear?’ 32For it is the Gentiles who strive for all these things; and indeed your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33But strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34“So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring worries of its own. Today’s trouble is enough for today.
Ok, Ok, they are not lilies, but they are flowers. Yesterday I took my niece and her three friends to Griffith Park to see the observatory. We then hiked from the Observatory to Mount Hollywood. The view from that site is wonderful, you can see almost the entire Los Angelas Basin (By The Way – the population of the LA Basin is greater then the entire state of Michigan!).
As I sat on the fence taking in the long distance view, I soon realized that I was surrounded by these yellow flowers in bloom and many species of butterflys were around me taking in the nectar. I was fortunate to get this shot. Even more fortunate are we when we can enjoy the life we have been given free from worry.
Jesus makes us a promise, seek first the higher aspects of life and let God handle the rest. When you do that, everyday has the potential to be a blessing to yourself and others.
Peace!
