It is our calling to live in stormy times.  Some generations live out their jouney on earth  in relative peace, however, our generation has been chosen to deal with a crises.   The economic mess we are in comes on the heals of incredible stupidity and greed (I know, I am being redundant :) ) and God has called us to face these times.

The first step in a crises is to seek safety, to find food and shelter.  This advice is given to any crises situation – facing a natural disaster, losing a job or business, getting away from an abusive situation, and/or an economic meltdown.  However, it is amazing to me how many people ignore this advice and tend to live in denial of the coming crises and do nothing to prepare for the coming disaster.

Spritiually, during a crises we need to come home also, we need to practice our faith on a daily basis.  Jesus gave us a wonderful prayer to help us “bring out faith home” and help give us security.  The basics of the “Lord’s Prayer” (Daily Bread, Forgiveness, Temptation) remind us that God is our Loving Parent who helps us through times of crises.  Eventually this crises will pass, we will grow closer to God, and the world will be a better place because God’s will be manifested here on earth…

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy Kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory. for ever and ever. Amen

Peace,

Pastor John
