“When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; when I became an adult, I put an end to childish ways. For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then we will see face to face. Now I know only in part; then I will know fully, even as I have been fully known. And now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; and the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:11-13

“As children we think inwardly of ourselves and look outwardly only to see who we are. Being a child resembles looking in a mirror at ourselves. The child does not take into consideration the function of the [Christian] community in creating self.  As an adult the individual recognizes that being understood, or loved, is the key to understanding, and loving. The adult [Christian] is open to others. Having gnosis [knowledge] then, without being known can leave one childish and dilettante.” Quote taken from Frist Corinthians, a commentary written by my old Seminary Professor, Grady Snyder, – Well done Grady!
