Vision
Our vision is to reach out to those who are inactive in Christian churches because their theological or spiritual needs were no longer being met, or to reach out to those who have been unchurched but are looking for a spiritual home. Glendale Church of the Brethren introduces its members to the findings of the latest Biblical scholarship and assumes that its members are able to think for themselves. We have no creed but the New Testament. Glendale Church of the Brethren seeks to dynamically interpret traditional Brethren Christian symbols and to learn from and make use of the spiritual insights of other Christian faith traditions. Glendale Church of the Brethren encourages its members to be involved in small groups where they will give and receive pastoral support. Glendale Church of the Brethren encourages its members to be involved in the community through service projects and through Christian witness.
Our History
The Glendale Church of the Brethren has been established in the Glendale community since 1929. The church, in past decades, was seen as a community leader. Today the church is host to the wonderful diversity that is Glendale. Three other Christian churches worship during the week in our sanctuary (Armenian, Korean, and Hispanic) all in their native language! A preschool also meets on church campus. Today through the involvement of our pastor, Dr. Jackson, in the community we are becoming a community leader once again.
